Students' Acrostic Poems
Although difficult to truly define, poetry is a form of writing that draws on the aesthetic qualities of language to evoke emotion and inspire imagination. Over the years, students in experiential philanthropy courses at Rutgers University-Newark have been tasked with collectively (in groups) creating acrostic poems highlighting what the words "philanthropy" and "charity" mean to them. Below is a sampling of their poems.
